Hi people,

I've got a set of front alloy control arms, and a Whiteline ALK.

Currently I have steel ones on the car, and i went to fit the new ones to the car today, re-read the instructions, and realised that I may have a problem.

The instructions say I need to have a washer that's supplied with the arms. I -do- have a washer, but i'm not sure it's the right one.

Where the bracket that fits thru the ALK's bush attaches to the control arm, there's a small round surface which doesnt look like enough to make contact with the bush - and the washer i have only has a large enough centre to reach just past the thread.

I guess i probably need to see a kit fitted properly to an STi or something similar, but i dont really know anyone who has one.

Just for clarification, I have the following:

| |(
| ALK |(
| BUSH |(
|| |(XXX
XX|| |(XXXX <-- Nut
|| |(XXX
| |(
| |(
| |(
^
^ +----- Washer supplied with anti-lift kit
+-- STi hardware

^-- from control arm

This, to me, looks incorrect - do I need a large washer to go between the sti hardware and the ALK?

Additionally, does anyone know if you need to do anything special with the ball joint, or does it just go into the aluminium arm?

And can i also assume that with a washer on the end of the whiteline solid swaybar links I have (gold anodised ones), if i put a washer on the other end, i will be able to use it with the alloy arms?

Thanks!

geoff

Hi Geoff,

I'm not sure, but the way I read you message, I don't think you may be missing the OEM washer that fits in the rear of the control arm, between the control arm and either OEM rear mount or ALK.

I have attached a diagram of the front suspension, in the small window, you need item # 4.

Also, for more information please refer to the attached fitting instructions.

Thanks for that - i -think- i have number 4 in the call-out diagram for the alloy arm there, but it doesnt appear to slide up over the pin.

I think i'd better get a digital camera and take some photos :)

Thanks,

Sorry, KCA359 fitting instructions are too large to be able to attach here. Please refer to these from our website. Please NOTE: may need to wait a few days as our latest KCA359 fitting instructions are being uploaded still.
