I've got a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon (US model) and am researching springs.
I understand you have both a control and a flat-out spring. Can you tell me specifically how much these springs lower the car in this application? What about spring rates between the two? And how well do they work with the stock struts?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
The specifications for Whiteline springs for your car, Subaru Impreza 2003 WRX, are as follows;
Control low;
80066 - front, progressive rate 175>245 lbs/in, average WTG 365mm
73194 - rear, progressive rate 96>177 lbs/in, average WTG 360mm
Flatout superlow;
83028A - front, progressive rate 175>245 lbs/in, average WTG 350mm
73195 - rear, progressive rate 96>177 lbs/in, average WTG 345mm
(WTG - wheel to guard measurement)
Although like any aftermarket springs, you can phisically fit them over your original shocks, if lowering is all you are concerned about. However, by default a lowering springs needs to be stiffer then OEM to be able to have at least the same carrying capacity, we strongly suggest to use matching sports rated shocks.

Hi Wojtek,
Thanks for the info. By WTG, you mean center of wheel, correct?
Cheers

Does Whiteline make springs with stiffer spring rates than those? I have an MY00 WRX with Koni adjustable shocks and would like a set of springs suited for tarmac/motorkhana.

Hi,
Those are the only replacement type springs that we designed, tested and have available. I'm not sure what spring rates you are after, but anything noticeably stiffer then those will also overload your shocks.
I suggest you consider our Group'4 kit which will be more appropriate for you. Spring rates are 280 lbs/in front and 230 lbs/in rear, with 46mm piston non-inverted mono-tube, 14 click combined rebound and bump adjustment shocks.

I'm sure the Koni shocks will allow higher spring rates than the OEM struts will allow?
My currently spring rates are F: 125=220 prog & R: 80-155 prog and would like to go to F:160-260 & R: 110-200 thereabouts.
Actually, I am more interested in bumping up rear spring rates rather than the front.

Hi,
scoobysix,
Can't help with replacement springs (with the spring rates you are after) other then our Control or Flatout offerings. But we can look at custom linear rate springs with a Group'4 kit if that is really what you want. I say this because we have had many STi owners who upgraded their OEM STi suspension to a Group'4 kit commenting on the improved handling as well as comfort!!!
