Hi,

I drive a Toyota Corolla Levin (ZZE-122) and I have a few questions about the suspension system I have fitted (Driven on them for 4mths).

Following a previous post made about suspension modification on a Corolla Sportivo (http://www.suspensionparts.info/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20), I have used it as a guide to the ideal suspension system.

The parts I am using are:
Whiteline Rear Swaybar (BTR77)
Whiteline Front Swaybar (BTF72)
Front shocks (2) Sports rated, twin tube hyd, ext adj - strut insert K86101414Sport
Rear Shocks (2) twin tube hyd internal adj - replacement shocks K802844Sport.
King Springs ¡V Low (35mm)

The following are not installed:
Front camber adj bolt kit KCA415
Front bump stop kit W0922
Rear Bump stop kit W0921

My question are:

1. Are King Springs the similar to Whiteline Control?

As suggested from the post:
Front Whiteline Control springs 73205
Rear Whiteline Control springs 73206

The reason I ask is that when the suspension was being installed I specified to use Whiteline control springs, the mech told me that they were similar if not the same and I was not entirely convinced, but still went ahead with the install.

Is it possible to get a comparison of the two?

2. The kits listed above were not installed.
Front camber adj bolt kit KCA415
Front bump stop kit W0922
Rear Bump stop kit W0921

The same situation happened, as I asked for the kits I was again told that I did not need them as the amount that my car has been lowered does not require them to be installed.

Is that true? If not what difference would the kits make in the handling, etc.

3. Questions about the rear swaybar

I had the front swaybar installed first, then the car started making horrible clicking sounds, then the rear was installed. By then the entire suspension had started screeching. Hence the suspension was replaced. The noises were most evident when going over bumps or up my driveway (i.e. very steep).

The problem experienced was that, the day after the install WITHOUT hard driving, the rear sway CLINKED and snapped on the driver¡¦s side welding point. This happened while going up my driveway.

It was returned and repaired, but 2 weeks later the same thing happened but now the passenger¡¦s side. So my mech re-welded both joints for me and worked well till now.
While backing up my drive way today the same clinking sound happened once again, structurally the rear swaybar again started to crack at one of the joints.

What can I do about this problem?
Could this be the result of a bad part?
Or the lack of the adjusting kits?
Or is it just the chassis itself?

Having done some reading, TRD has a whole rear-end frame brace, could it be that the chassis twists too much for the rearsway to handle?

What should I do now?

As it starting to get annoying.

Thanks in advance.

Jason.

Hi Jason,
Thanks for your message.

1. They are similar as far as phisical size as they have to fit the same car. However, Whiteline springs are designed and tested by Whiteline according to our philosophy and objectives. We can't comment on other brands, but are happy to on ours should you have any questions.

2.
KCA415 - front camber kit. Factory front camber is less then ideal for a sports tuned suspension, hence we recommend this as there is no factory camber adjustment provided.
W0921 & W0922 - front and rear performance bump stops. We recommend these shorter bumps stops for lowered cars to reduce bottoming out, improve handling and maximise comfort.

3. Please return your sway bar for a warranty check. We will investigate this further and take appropriate action.
I don't think it is related to your car.

Wojtek.
